The Blue Book “Regulation for the Order and Discipline of the Troops of the UNITED STATES”. Frederick William Ludolf Gerhard Augustin von Steuben, a Prussian Major General, was appointed temporary Inspector General by General Washington at Valley Forge. Through von Steuben and the Blue Book, American NCOs begin to gain their unique authorities and responsibilities.









 

The Shared Experiences webpage gives NCOs a chance to tell their story and share advice, best practices, and practical insights. It allows individual NCOs to preserve their knowledge and experience and shows how diverse and complex our profession can be.
